- I was enraged by your report that commercial fishermen are not
- upset about the deaths of sea otters in the wake of the Alaskan
- Exxon Valdez oil spill because an otter can consume as much as 25
- lbs. of seafood a day (NATION, Aug. 7). These fishermen seem to
- think every resource on earth is for humans only. The otters have
- more right to the seafood; it is their only source of sustenance.
- We must realize that we are encroaching on the sea otters'
- territory and their nourishment.
